Nigerian Companies Import Major Components From China To Produce Electric Cars

Aug 27, 2021

Nigerian electric vehicle startup Jett Motors said it has started to test the Nigerian electric vehicle market by importing major components from China to assemble and produce electric vans.

China has world-leading technology and a complete supply chain in the field of electric vehicles, which can help the company produce electric vehicles tailored to the road conditions and market needs of African countries, the founder and CEO of Jet Motors said. At present, the power transmission system and battery system of the Jet electric vans are from Chinese enterprises.

The continent is rich in water, wind and solar energy. Electric vehicles have huge market potential in Africa as countries continue to push for emission reduction targets and increase investment in clean energy. Jett automotive looks forward to deepening cooperation with Chinese enterprises in technology transfer and auto parts production in the future.
