Huawei's Vehicle Level Radar For High-performance Is First Released

 Today, the T10 ICV CTO summit hosted by The China Association of Automobile Manufacturers was held in Shanghai, where Huawei officially release its high-performance radar products and solutions to the industry for the for the first time. Duan Zhongyi, general manager of Fusion Perception Product Department, gave a comprehensive description of radar products and solutions centering on high performance, the car level gauge and mass production.

Radar is an opto-mechatronics products, which requires deep integration of opto-mechatronics fields. Benefited from long-term accumulation of optical design, signal processing and complete machine engineering in ICT field, Huawei reconstructed the core components of radar, including sending module, receiving module and scanner.

Compared with millimeter wave radar and camera, radar has excellent capability in target contour measurement, angle measurement, light stability, general obstacle detection and so on. However, in difficult situations, such as irregular pedestrians, irregular roads and even irregular driving behaviors in urban areas, radar is urgently needed to solve the problem. It can be said that radar is the key sensor to address the continuous automatic driving experience, which will bring far more intelligent driving experience than any other commercial intelligent driving system.

Relying on the precision manufacturing capacity and the advanced technology equipment laboratory accumulated in the field of optical communication , Huawei quickly established the Pilot production line of the first vehicle-level laser radar. Facing the mass production demand in the future, Huawei has been advancing according to the annual output of 100,000 sets/line to meet the future mass production demand.

In the past two years, Huawei radar has completed the scene requirements definition, development and design of its products, and has a full accumulation in the test verification, production and manufacturing. Huawei hopes to bring radar into every car and usher in a new era of smart driving.
