F1 Will Run On A 100 Percent Renewable E-fuel By 2025
Oct 19, 2021
Formula One plans to use a 100 percent renewable and sustainable fuel by 2025 that will not only reduce emissions in motor racing, but also transfer the technology to everyday vehicles, planes and even cargo ships, foreign media reported.
Pat Symonds, FORMULA One's chief technical officer, said the new fuel would not require any modifications to the car's existing engine, and could use anything from municipal waste, non-food biomass, and carbon capture technology. As a result, Formula One cars burn this renewable fuel with 65% fewer emissions.
