China's January Auto Sales Are Expected To Finish 2.54 Million Units, Up More Than 30 Percent Year On Year

China's auto industry is expected to sell 2.54 million vehicles in January 2021, up 31.9% year on year, according to data released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).Among them, passenger car sales are expected to reach 2.07 million units, up 28.4% year on year; The sales volume of commercial vehicles is expected to reach 480,000 units, up 50.1% year on year.

Recently, the vehicle enterprises announced the production and sales data in January 2021, and the production and sales volume of the major enterprises increased significantly compared with the same period last year.

China FAW produced 309,100 vehicles in January, up 21.6 percent year on year. Sales of vehicles are 420,500, up 18.9% year on year.

Changan Automobile produced 226,600 vehicles in January, up 82.85 percent year on year. The sales volume was 252,000 units, up 87.24% year on year.

BYD produced 47,618 vehicles in January, up 87.27% from a year earlier. The sales volume was 42,401 units, with a year-on-year increase of 68.44%.

SAIC-GM-Wuling's overall sales in January reached 159,100 units, up 45 per cent from a year earlier. SAIC-GM-Wuling recorded 10 consecutive months of year-on-year sales growth.

According to the report released by the Federation of Passenger Cars, the number of passenger car retail sales in the first two weeks of January fell year on year, while the number in the second two weeks increased by a relatively large margin. The number in the third and fourth weeks increased by 35% and 168%, respectively.
