CBIES AUTOMOTIVE|Regarding Vehicle Exhaust Emissions, It May Be Different From Your Imagination
Five departments including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China issued an announcement: From July 1, 2023, China will fully implement Stage 6b of the National VI emission standard nationwide, prohibiting the production, import, and sale of vehicles that do not meet the Stage 6b of the National VI emission standard.
National VI emission standard 6b stage
The sixth phase of the national motor vehicle pollutant emission standard is to implement the "Environmental Protection Law of the People's Republic of China" and other related laws, prevent and control the pollution of the exhaust from compression ignition and gas fuel ignition engine vehicles, protect the ecological environment, and ensure standards for human health.
On May 26, 2021, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of China issued a circular stating that starting in July, China will fully implement the National VI emission standards for heavy-duty diesel vehicles, marking that China's automobile standards have fully entered the era of National VI and basically achieved integration with developed countries in Europe and the United States.
6b is the second stage of the National VI emission standard. The 6b stage of the National VI emission standard stipulates that the carbon monoxide emitted by gasoline vehicles cannot exceed 500 mg per kilometer; the non-methane emissions of gasoline vehicles cannot exceed 35 mg per kilometer; The nitrogen oxides emitted per kilometer driven by the car shall not exceed 35 milligrams.
Since the Industrial Revolution, natural air pollution has spread from straw burning and forest fires in the original agricultural society to the culprit of accelerated global warming. After World War II, with the increase in the number of vehicles in various countries, vehicle exhaust emissions have become one of the main sources of air pollution. Pollutants such as nitrogen oxides and particulate matter in exhaust emissions have caused great damage to human health and the environment. In order to reduce the impact of vehicle exhaust emissions on the environment, many countries have formulated exhaust emission standards.
The earliest automobile exhaust emission standards can be traced back to the United States in the 1960s. At that time, an engineer in Minnesota, USA found that the frost crystals on his windows were getting thicker and thicker. After investigation, it was found that it was caused by car exhaust. Therefore, in 1966, the U.S. government began to implement the first automobile exhaust emission standard, called "California Air Resources Board Exhaust Emission Standard", which aims to limit the emission of nitrogen oxides (NOx) and hydrocarbons (CHx) in automobile exhaust . Since then, states have followed suit, and in 1970 passed the Clean Air Act, which established national vehicle exhaust emission standards.

The implementation of vehicle exhaust emission standards in Europe is later than in the United States. In the late 1970s, European automakers introduced sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxide control technologies in the process of promoting diesel vehicles to the market, but these control technologies still failed to prevent the problem of diesel vehicle exhaust emissions. Before that, gasoline and diesel fuel burned by cars contained not only sulfur but also lead. So the toxicity is very high. In 1991, Europe passed the first automobile exhaust emission standard, adopting a unique phase-by-stage approach. Currently, the European Union's automobile exhaust emission standard has been updated to the "Euro VI Standard". Euro 6d-temp requires that the NOx emission of diesel vehicles shall not exceed 80mg/km, and the particulate matter emission of gasoline vehicles shall not exceed 4.5mg/km. Compared with the China VI standard, the EU emission standard is more stringent in some aspects (such as the control of particulate matter and NOx) than the China VI standard.
China's automobile exhaust emission standards originated in 1999, when the European ECE R83 standard was introduced, and based on this, the domestic automobile exhaust emission standards were formulated and improved. In 2000, China began the implementation of the first automobile exhaust emission standard, which is called "GB14762-2000 Automobile Pollutant Emission Limits and Measurement Methods", that is, the first national standard. Since then, China's vehicle exhaust emission standards have been continuously updated and improved, and have now been updated to the National VI standard. Compared with the previous National V emission standards, the National VI standards have stricter emission controls. Among them, the limit requirement for gasoline vehicles is 50% lower than that of the National V, and the limit requirement for diesel vehicles is 67% lower than that of the National V. At the same time, China VI also puts forward stricter requirements for pollutants such as particulate matter and NOx.
Compared with the EU and China, the emission standards of the United States and Japan are slightly weaker in some aspects (such as the control of particulate matter and NOx), but still stricter.
Automobile exhaust pipe is an important part of the automobile. Its working principle is to discharge the exhaust gas generated inside the automobile engine to the outside of the car, so as to achieve the purpose of reducing pollution. The performance of automobile exhaust pipe is very important, it can effectively reduce automobile exhaust.
In the manufacturing process of automobile exhaust pipes, CBIES has been using high-quality materials to manufacture automobile exhaust pipes according to customer requirements, ensuring that each product has reliable quality and stable performance.
After years of technical research and development, CBIES's automobile exhaust pipes have excellent performance characteristics such as toughness, high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, and low noise, which can meet various needs of customers and enjoy a high reputation in the global market.
