BMW's Mini Brand Will Be Fully Electric By 2030

Mar 23, 2021

BMW's Mini brand will switch to all-electric vehicles from 2030 as the company accelerates its transition to electric vehicles, foreign media reported.

In 2025, Mini will introduce its last internal-combustion engine model; By 2027, half of Mini sales will be electric; Starting in 2030, MINI will produce only pure electric cars. It was revealed that BMW CEO Oliver Zipse will announce the plan at the company's annual report on March 17.

Before Mini, Ford Europe, Bentley, Jaguar and Volvo also announced plans to go fully electric. Soaring valuations for pure electric car companies, led by Tesla, and increasingly stringent emissions regulations have accelerated the global shift to electric vehicles.
