Aug 02, 2022

According to the latest data from AutoForecast Solutions (hereinafter referred to as AFS), the global automotive market has reportedly cut production by about 2,810,200 vehicles this year due to chip shortages as of July 31. AFS predicts that by the end of this year, global automakers will cut 3,680,600 vehicles due to chip shortages.

The pace of global auto production cuts caused by chip shortages continued to slow last week as automakers and parts suppliers believe the chip crisis is easing. Last week, due to the chip shortage, global automakers cut production by 23,000 vehicles, which is one of the smallest car production cut weeks in recent months. Europe cut production by about 10,100 vehicles; North America cut production by about 6,500 vehicles. And the rest of Asia cut production by about 6,300 vehicles.
